Best Show Ever
The staff, dancers and parents have accomplished a historic feat at this year’s revue at the Wortham. Mary Poppins played to a sold out house. Both shows received rave reviews from the people who count, YOU.
Everyone demonstrated the technique, professionalism and talent that CJDS is known for. There is no one harder to please than Cookie and Tran. And we know that this is possibly the best show ever produced in the 35 year history, SO… Way to go and thank you.
Thank you to all the volunteers backstage. Without them, we could not create such wonderful masterpieces.
Summer Showcase
We love to try to provide new challenges and opportunities to our kids. This summer in no different. The STOMP class is exciting, fun and loud. The musical theater and vocal classes will be exploring the music of the Broadway sensation Wicked.
There will be a showcase of selected classes to celebrate the end of our summer program. On Friday, July 30 at 6pm, join us for a mini concert and reception. Kids and parents that commit to summer dance classes deserve a party. This one is for you.
Friends Do Let Friends Dance
Introducing our first Bring a Friend to Dance Week on July 12 -17. You are invited to invite your BFF to see how you spend your time. No previous training required. This is for fun. If you take lots of classes you may bring lots of friends or bring the same friends lots of time.
Ask the Expert
We are proud to announce that the Fort Bend Star is featuring Cookie and Tran in the ASK the Expert section of the newspaper. Look for their column each month. Feel free to submit your questions. You may see it answered in print.
Class Placement
The level at which you dance is decided by the instructors at Dancin’ School. The child or parent are not qualified to evaluate a dancer’s ability.
Advancement is possible at any time so work hard every class. Do not attend a class that is above your level without permission. The only way to attend a higher class is if you are registered and attend all of the classes offered at your level. Then and only then may you regularly take classes beyond your ability if you have the approval of the teacher.
Taking a class that is too hard for you is not only disruptive to the rest of the dancers, but it will lead to bad habits, incorrect form and sloppy technique.
The Dancin’ School staff has collectively hundreds of hours of experience and they are all experts in this field. Trust us. We have the best interest of all of our students at heart and are determined that you succeed.
